Christmas Fundraiser Evening of Music in Levis Cornerhouse Ballydehob

We are very lucky to have some very talented parents, supporters and friends of the Kindergarten who are giving their time and energy to a great fundraising evening happening this Friday the 4th of December at 8pm in Levis Cornerhouse in Ballydehob. The evening will be a relaxed affair and consist of a number of different people playing music – Steve & Aly, Bean & Irene, Miranda Mc Carthy and Stuart Wilde to name but a few! There is no entry charge but we will be passing the hat and all proceeds will go towards the running of the Kindergarten and we will also be selling raffle tickets on the night – so book your babysitters and come and join us for a good start to the festive... read more

Christmas Raffle

We are holding a Christmas raffle at The Two Rivers Kindergarten. There are some great prizes and winners will get to choose the prize that suits them best. Prizes include a Voucher for 2 at Have a Go Archery, a €50 Voucher for Budds Restaurant, A Gubeen Farm Christmas ham & cheese, a Handmade Mosaic Mirror and many more! Tickets are €2 each or you can buy 3 for €5 and all proceeds go towards the Kindergarten. Tickets are available from any of the parents or will be on sale at the counter in Budds restaurant in Ballydehob. Please help to support our lovely play school. Lantern Walk 2015

We had a lovely break in the weather for our Lantern Walk this year. It had been raining all day long but the rain cleared just in time for our annual walk with lighted lanterns. the children had been working on making their lanterns for the walk and also learning all of the lovely lantern walk songs. Busy Bees for the Ballydehob Christmas Fair

We are all working hard here at the Kindergarten getting our wares ready for the Ballydehob Christmas fair on the 29th of November in the Community hall. We will have a stall manned by the parents  who will be available for a chat to anyone who wants to know about the Two Rivers Kindergarten and Play school. We will also be selling these beautiful buzzy bees made from bees wax and pine cones. They make lovely decorations for your Christmas tree or to have buzzing about the house. Ballydehob Christmas fair

It may seem a little bit early, but here at the two Rivers Kindergarten we have started making plans for our Christmas stall at the Ballydehob Christmas craft Fair on the 29th of November. We will have a stall outside and parents will be on hand to speak to people about the Kindergarten and to sell some lovely handmade Christmas decorations – so keep an eye out for us on the 29th – it’s always a great social occasion at the craft fair! Parents Evening at the Two Rivers Kindergarten

On Tuesday September the 29th we will be holding our parent’s evening from 7pm – 9pm. This is an evening where all parents of children attending the Kindergarten are invited to come and meet the teachers and other parents. We can all have a chat (and some tea and cake!) with each other and learn more about the Kindergarten and the Steiner principles that the Kindergarten is based on.... read more

Kids Bricks Club Workshop in Clonakilty

Have you got a lego fan in your life? This might be of interest to you (and them) if so. The  Quality Hotel Clonakilty West Cork is running a  Kids Bricks Club Workshop. Kids Bricks Club is a creative brick building and social activity club for girls and boys. Workshops provide children with plenty of time to create designs from their imagination.  Our challenges call for teamwork to build the tallest towers, the longest bridges or the most mini-figures. Chris Haughton is a wonderful Irish children’s illustrator and author and his website has a fantastic offering of free activities to download. There are activities for children aged 9 months and up on offer – Colouring sheets, posters, activity sheets, collages, recipe for a George cake ( of ‘Oh No George‘ fame!). Things to do in West Cork with Kids (in the Rain)

This spell of wet and windy weather calls for some indoor activities with the kids. Fortunately the West Cork Literary Festival has some great things on and tomorrow sounds like a great (indoor) fun afternoon. Book tickets for the Viking Doodle with Mark Wickham. Things to do around West Cork with Kids (part 4) Loughbeg Farm

Loughbeg Farm is an open farm located just outside of Schull. It’s a very relaxed affair and is perfect for kids of all ages. It’s fun and educational for children, and interesting for everyone else, especially those ‘growing their own’. 80 raised beds producing potatoes, french beans, onions, kale, leeks, swede turnips, beetroot, squash, broad beans, peas, and tomatoes and cucumbers in the greenhouse. They have pigs, horses, ponies, donkeys, goats, hens, and a pedigree flock of Hampshire Down sheep. Lovely walks around the hill with views of Cape Clear Island, Dunmanus Bay, Sheeps Head Peninsula, Mount Gabriel, Rathtooragh, Lissacaha, Lake. Small farm shop.
