On Wednesdays we make millet for lunch at the Kindergarten. Ingredients 1 Cup of Millet 1 Cup of Water Fruit Olive Oil & Tamari (we mix a little tamari with a lot of oil in a jar and shake it well) Method Cook at a low heat, stirring continuously, until all the water is gone. On Tuesdays we make bread rolls with the children at the Kindergarten. Ingredients Whole spelt flour White spelt flour dried yeast Salt Olive oil Warm water Honey 4 seed mix (can be put into the dough) Method Mix some honey in warm water. Two parts whole flour to one part white Mix all the ingredients together. Roll into little balls (or into dog / dinosaur / star / cat shapes!) The annual Advent Spiral event will be held this Sunday the 6th of December. All Kindergarten children and their parents are invited to attend this magical event. We are very lucky to have some very talented parents, supporters and friends of the Kindergarten who are giving their time and energy to a great fundraising evening happening this Friday the 4th of December at 8pm in Levis Cornerhouse in Ballydehob. The evening will be a relaxed affair and consist of a number of different people playing music – Steve & Aly, Bean & Irene, Miranda Mc Carthy and Stuart Wilde to name but a few! There is no entry charge but we will be passing the hat and all proceeds will go towards the running of the Kindergarten and we will also be selling raffle tickets on the night – so book your babysitters and come and join us for a good start to the festive... read more
We are holding a Christmas raffle at The Two Rivers Kindergarten. There are some great prizes and winners will get to choose the prize that suits them best. We had a lovely break in the weather for our Lantern Walk this year. It had been raining all day long but the rain cleared just in time for our annual walk with lighted lanterns. the children had been working on making their lanterns for the walk and also learning all of the lovely lantern walk songs. We are all working hard here at the Kindergarten getting our wares ready for the Ballydehob Christmas fair on the 29th of November in the Community hall. We will have a stall manned by the parents who will be available for a chat to anyone who wants to know about the Two Rivers Kindergarten and Play school. We will also be selling these beautiful buzzy bees made from bees wax and pine cones. They make lovely decorations for your Christmas tree or to have buzzing about the house. It may seem a little bit early, but here at the two Rivers Kindergarten we have started making plans for our Christmas stall at the Ballydehob Christmas craft Fair on the 29th of November. We will have a stall outside and parents will be on hand to speak to people about the Kindergarten and to sell some lovely handmade Christmas decorations – so keep an eye out for us on the 29th – it’s always a great social occasion at the craft fair! On Tuesday September the 29th we will be holding our parent’s evening from 7pm – 9pm. This is an evening where all parents of children attending the Kindergarten are invited to come and meet the teachers and other parents.
