Family Events at Uilinn – West Cork Arts Centre

The West Cork Arts Centre runs some great programmes and events for children and families. There is the regular ‘Discovery Box’ which helps parents and children engage with current exhibitions through play. There is a Discovery box event happening this Saturday (the 25th of April) from 11am. Details below. Discovery Box is a free gallery resource for parents and carers to use with their young children in the gallery to encourage engagement with the artwork. West Cork Arts Centre commissions guest artists to develop explorations for children and families to investigate and respond to exhibitions in the gallery using a variety of tools, art materials and information sheets . Saturday 21 March – Saturday 2 May Gallery 2 ‘Disconnect’ By Susan Montgomery Susan will facilitate a Discovery Box workshop on Saturday 25 April, 11am for families with small children cost € 7. Please book in advance at reception Saturday 9 May – Friday 12 June Gallery 2 ‘ I Shall Make for My Own Castle’ By Toma McCullim Toma will facilitate a Discovery Box workshop on Saturday 23 May, 11am for families with small children cost € 7. Nature Art Walk at The Two Rivers & An Sanctoir

Come along and hang out at Two Rivers Kindergarten and go for a meander down nearby trails: see the wild beauty of spring , meet the unexpected and interact with nature, performers and materials. Fun for all ages. 4 and under free. children 4euro Adult 6euro, All proceeds for building shelter and other amenities.. Whatever is raised will be doubled by a West Cork company!!! Some Messy (but sugar rush free) Easter fun with kids

Papier-mâché Easter Egg Craft This is a good way of keeping children occupied over Easter – it can be a bit messy and hands on, but it’s also good fun and the children love it…and there’s no chocolate sugar rush to deal with! Here’s how to make the eggs. Supplies and Directions: 12 papier-mâché eggs A rainbow of tissue paper (cut into small squares) The Sunday Comics (cut into small squares) Mod Podge, or glue Brushes Scissors Using the brush, spread a small amount of Mod Podge onto an egg. Place a piece of tissue paper or newspaper over the glue and press it down with the brush. Continue working this way until the entire egg is covered in paper. Happy Easter From the Two Rivers Kindergarten

The Two Rivers Play School is holding it’s Easter celebration this Thursday the 26th of March at 11.30am. We will start with music, singing and poetry followed by a little Kindergarten Easter Egg hunt with a little feast for everyone afterwards. Please bring some food to share with everybody. New Extended Hours for 2015 -2016

We are hoping to offer extended hours of service at the Two Rivers Kindergarten.  The Play school, located in Ballydehob, will now be able to offer children and parents a full week of our pre-school services. Christmas Fund Raiser – ‘Dub Raiser’

Thank You Everybody!! The Two Rivers Christmas fundraiser was a great event held in the Community Hall in Ballydehob. The Kindergarten is very grateful to all the wonderful musicians who gave their time and effort and gave fantastic performances on the night.
